Qualification for membership
A person who possesses the following qualifications shall be eligible for membership
Nationality
Is within the field of membership consisting of the following common bond: Within the locality, Kenyan citizen and anyone willing to join
Age
Has attained the age of 18 years
Mental Stability
A member should be of good character and sound mind
Application
Pays the entrance fee and share capital as prescribed in the by-laws
Application For Membership
Read these Instructions
- 1. Every applicant for membership shall complete an “application for membership” form. This form shall be drawn to show all the information required for the purpose of registration of a member
2. An applicant shall be admitted to membership on application upon payment of an entrance fee of Kshs.1, 000.00.
3. Upon admission the members’ name shall be entered in the membership register and a membership number issued.
4. Members shall be admitted by the board subject to Confirmation they have paid the entrance fee and purchased the minimum shares.
5. The member shall pay for a copy of the society by-laws at its actual cost to the society.
Points to note
-The board may refuse admission to a person after assigning reasons for their decision. Such a person, if otherwise eligible for membership, shall have the right to appeal to the next General Meeting
-No member shall belong to more than one Sacco society serving similar purpose
